Stephen
Hale, the youngest member of the Sketch Group, was born in the Preparatory
Academy. Literally. His parents were two students that attended the
school (Patrick Hale '82 and Stephanie Fitzsimmons '83). On one lovely
day in December, Stephen was pushed from his mothers womb onto the floor
of the girls bathroom. Some people believe that as he hit the floor,
something was hurt in his head that never really healed. Maybe that
is why he's so angry, or can handle the physicality of sketch comedy.
From that day forward, Stephen was destined to be a sketch comedian.
Stephen
is the youngest member of the group, but does not let it show on the stage.
He thanks his great Professor, Dr. Monk, for teaching him the ways of comedy.
Many thought Stephen was going to make it big at a younger age but a boating
accident put him on the injured list for many months. During this
tragic time in the hospital, Stephen spent his time writing and thinking
about what might have been. Some also believe this is the source of all
his energy, when he could not escape from his hospital bed. He made
a stunning comeback one fine night in the ever famous skit "Leaping frogs
falling from the sky" which brought him back in the limelight of physical
comedy and answered any questions of whether or not he could handle it
anymore after the accident.
Stephen has said that he
is "Happy to be a part of a wonderful group" and "thrilled about the subway
system" and "just darn happy" on many different levels.
He graduated with honors
in Yelling and Anger and hopes to use them wisely, just as Dr. Monk has
taught him. Now all will come to know the power and rage that is
Stephen Hale. |
